New Hampshire is extremely proud of its historical and nationally-recognized “First in the Nation” status for presidential primaries. It is an important state because of its commitment to retail politics, the chance for voters here to meet each and every candidate, sometimes several times! The rest of the country looks to New Hampshire and we take that responsibility seriously!
Years ago New England College saw an opportunity to engage students from all over the country to witness and be part of New Hampshire’s rich and unique primary process. For the first few primaries we called it “College Convention” and we brought every candidate, campaign manager, journalist, issue group and volunteer that was involved in the primary to meet and interact with students. Thousands of students of all ages and from a ton of states traveled to be part of something special… a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They got to ask candidates questions, listen to speeches, learn about campaigning, witness the media frenzy, and see everything that had to do with presidential politics first hand. In other words, they got a taste of the #FITN Presidential Primary experience.
Attend the NH Primary Student Convention
New England College is the only college in New Hampshire to host a primary convention for students, and we’re thrilled to provide the opportunity. It’s civic engagement. It’s political awareness. It’s hands-on experience that is our academic passion and expertise. We can’t wait for you to be part of it!
Please make your plans now to register and join NH Primary Student Convention 2016. Students (learning in public, private, homeschool, charter, and technical schools and colleges) are all encouraged to attend, as are teachers, parents, and educators from all areas.
More information will be coming in the near future. Please check back regularly.
